One Short Day In Antiva City

Davrin might have forgotten Lucanis' offer about the tailor, but he had not. Not all of their excursions were for fighting demons or cultists or darkspawn, and eventually Rook was going treasure hunting on the Rivani coast with Taash and Harding. And just them. Quite adamant that only Taash and Harding were needed, in fact.

Andraste preserve them, Rook was apparently becoming interested in matchmaking.

It worked out, though. The timing. Lucanis ever so casually mentions that Davrin promised to assist him in some errands in Antiva and Rook is just so happy they're not at each other's throats that they're told to not take however long they need. Lucanis makes a mental note to pick up something nice for Rook when they're in Antiva City.

Ah, Antiva City. A less beautiful Treviso, Lucanis used to say. That was before the Ossuary, before the occupation, before the blight. Now it's hard to not see everything that's been lost. He doesn't insult Davrin by assuming the man can't keep up with the Crow routes along the rooftops and across ziplines, so much faster than the weaving crowded streets up the hill the city is built on overlooking the harbor the few times they need to duck down to street level.

"Should be right around - ah, there it is," Lucanis declares once they're half way up the hill, the financial district of the city settled between the Palace at the top and the harbor and all the wealth the shipping industry brings. This time when he drops down to the street level it is where they'll stay for the time being, heading to an understated store front with a simple hanging sign that looks like an embroidered rose carved into the wood of it.

A secret gentleman to the end. Davrin tightened his grip on his hips momentarily, letting him know he got the idea. He was a big, tough warden. He could handle Lucanis falling apart for a moment, and shifted enough to watch his face accordingly.

There should be factors he took into account. Lucanis had had (to put it criminally lightly) a stressful year. It was his first encounter. There was alcohol involved. But Davrin was willing to place all that aside and simply be supremely smug with himself as he kissed his way back up Lucanis' chest to come face to face once more. The cat that got the canary look very much in place.

"Feel better?"

"We need to get you out of the shadows more."

Being out around people didn't seem the problem, after all. Lucanis had just navigated a room full of them as their new leader. It was the actually participating in it all they both had to work on. Or just stick with each other more. That was also fully acceptable, Davrin decided as he indulged in the kiss and came to curl up along Lucanis' side.

"There's all kinds of experiences out here."

He could make some poetic arguments about Wardens being meant to fight the shadows, but that was both unromantic and not fully technically true. They fought darkness by taking it part of it. Living in the shadows? Really not that much of a difference.

Instead of any of that philosophical nonsense, he closed his eyes to better focus on the feeling of the man moving against him. He slowly rolled on his back, letting Lucanis do as he would as he sighed and relaxed back into the soft bed.

"Mm. They do seem to have their perks."

His smile turned amused for a moment as Lucanis- and there wasn't a better word he could think of just then- fussed over him with a pillow. It was endearing, particularly since they were in Lucanis' bed, in his room, in his mansion- hells, in his city, for all purposes. But First Talon or abomination exile, Lucanis remained the same, at least in this. There was something to be said about a man, that on the night of his ascent to power it wasn't in his head.

He raised one hand to play with the other man's hair whenever it was in range as he explored his territory. Not guiding or forceful, simply running his fingernails softly along his scalp as Davrin took his own turn to sigh and moan, encouraging him on.

"Very. I could stay all night."

Well, not in this position. He very much intended to wrap around Lucanis' whole body as tightly as Irene had his wrist before they slept- to keep Spite still, naturally. But until then he really could stay like this for hours. Lucanis exploring as he would, pleasure trailing down his body along with the man's mouth and drowning out the inescapable pull of Blight, Darkspawn, Find it that came with being near the stuff.

"Is this how you want me?"

"It's like anything else you do: practice."

And Davrin was more than willing to be the training dummy, though for the sake of his ragged pride he kept that last line to himself. There had to be a more romantic way to phrase it, especially with his reply still in the shadow of the poetry the Crow was cooing for him.

"I'll be a patient teacher."

It wasn't much better, but given how the Crows seemed to learn things? It seemed fitting to promise no slapped knuckles for hitting an awkward angle or two.

He was a patient man. Hunts could last weeks, months. But after the build up, the slow movement down, the teeth and tongue, he couldn't help letting out a relieved moan, his fingers tightening in Lucanis' hair, as there was finally touch.

"I- ha, I think it'll be easy enough. Tonight."

"I'll be-" he cut off as Lucanis used his mouth for the first time, obeying his own advice and not holding anything back to show how much it was enjoyed as he arched off the bed. His hand stayed tight in Lucanis' hair, urging him to stay where he was, if not come a little closer.

"I'll be more thorough...later."

Everybody chokes sometimes, but Davrin isn't complaining about the slow and steady experimental approach. Very in favor, in fact, spreading his legs wider to allow any and all access needed. Somewhere in the back of his mind he registers this would be the perfect moment for some assassination attempt to happen, but forces it down. He has to trust that this night of all nights even a Crow house should be secure- and they still had Spite, who was presumably paying some attention.

In a silent apology for letting his mind wander for even a fragment of a second, he used his free hand to gather any of Lucanis' hair falling free and getting in his face, holding to back. That is cleared his own view of everything was naturally just a side benefit.

Not sexy, no, but adorable somehow. The great First Talon willing to show an imperfection. Davrin runs one thumb over his cheek, already enjoying himself far more than he expected after just a few moments. Blame it on the length of the hunt, or just how gorgeous the man looked, but this would be a short introductory lesson.

"You don't have to go too far."

"We've got time."

Maybe not weeks or months if things kept progressing, but certainly enough free time in the Lighthouse to make some significant progress between battles. Thinking of it puts a slightly mischievous edge to his smile even as it sends a shiver down his spine. Yeah, they would have to invest in some locks.

"But if you're that eager, don't let me hold you up."

"Thank-"

Tragically, the smirked gratitude couldn't be finished. His eyes fluttered for a moment instead before he schooled himself into looking down again, watching Lucanis with slightly parted lips. A few minutes, and it would be his turn to gently tug his hair in warning.
