That was the stick of it, wasn't it. This wasn't even the real Caterina. This was what Lucanis saw of her - what he felt about her, feared about her. Maybe that was better. Maybe this Caterina was more reasonable, someone who was certainly motivated by love. Her eyes still hold the threat of disappointment in them, of disapproval, but she faded away into a pillar of light that dissipated into a cloud of wisps. The water began to rise up farther, and at the other end of the library a door that wasn't there before stood open, showing more of the Ossuary beyond it.
